In every family there is a unique dynamic, and it is this dynamic that will help define the people we will grow into. Having children brings a sense of fullness to a family. It is the children we are blessed with that will fill our lives with joy and happiness. Most families have more than one child and if we are lucky enough to have a sibling in life, we may count ourselves fortunate. Although we may not always see it that way having a brother or sister in life is truly wonderful. The relationships that develop between us as siblings will be filled with change throughout our lives. As children the bond between brothers and sisters is one of strength and promise. Although there may be battles the idea of a loyal friend and consistent playmate, helps us remain close comrades.
As we grow into adolescence and reach the teen years, we often find ourselves unsure of who we are and where we stand. During this time, our brothers and sisters may become our best friend or our worst adversary, with wars being waged against each other or on behalf of one another. Despite the outcome we will still find a common ground within our household. As adulthood emerges our lives become chaotic. We may suddenly find ourselves trying to balance a career and a family of our own. Time can pass suddenly, and we may go months or even years without seeing or speaking to a person whom we’d once spent everyday of our lives with. Although we might not always see eye to eye, it is important to cherish the people that have been with us through most of life’s ups and downs and who probably know us best of all.

Capturing a family together is what we enjoy most here at Heath Photography. We know that as children grow older it becomes more difficult to get everyone together for a family portrait. Recently in our studio we had the pleasure of photographing five year old Traigh and two year old Teegan, son and daughter of Darci and Kelly Kittle of Clayton. The images of the children truly captured the joy and love between siblings. The family is part of our “family plan,” which allows them to be photographed at least once a year in our studio. Having this plan helps the family capture not only the growth of the children but the family as a whole. It is important to embrace a family’s togetherness when you can, because before you know it the time has passed.
