The Beautiful Truth

If you care about your health or your children's health you must watch.....
Raised on a wildlife reserve in Alaska ,15 year old Garrett was interested in the dietary habits of their animals.  After the tragic death of his mother, Garrett's father decided to home-school his son and assigned a book written by Dr. Max Gerson that proposes a direct link between diet and a cure for cancer.

Fascinated, Garrett embarks on a cross-country road trip to investigate The Gerson Therapy. He meets with scientists, doctors and cancer survivors who reveal how it is in the best interest of the multi-billion dollar medical industry to dismiss the notion of alternative and natural cures.

It has been said that more people live off cancer than die from it. The Beautiful Truth is a movie that can put a stop to this travesty. Here is a very practical guide to the intensive nutritional treatment of cancer and other life-threatening diseases that many would consider to have been impossible to obtain. But thanks to the work of Max Gerson, M.D., and his daughter, Charlotte Gerson, this knowledge is readily available.

Max Gerson cured cancer. He did so with a strict fat-free, salt-free, low-protein, essentially vegetarian dietary regimen, based on great quantities of fresh vegetable juice, supplements, and systemic detoxification.

Cure for Cancer

Stanislaw R. Burzynski, MD, PhD, is an internationally recognized physician and scientist who has devoted his whole life to cancer research.  Burzynski Clinic has been treating thousands of cancer patients from all over the world for over 40 years.
Dr. Burzynski is a pioneer in cancer research, known worldwide for discovering Antineoplastons, which act as molecular switches to turn off cancer cells without destroying normal cells.

In Dying To Have Known, filmmaker Steve Kroschel went on a 52-day journey to find evidence to the effectiveness of the Gerson Therapy -- a long-suppressed natural cancer cure. His travels take him across both the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans, from upstate New York to San Diego to Alaska, from Japan and Holland to Spain and Mexico. In the end, he presents the testimonies of patients, scientists, surgeons and nutritionists who testify to the therapy's efficacy in curing cancer and other degenerative diseases, and presents the hard scientific proof to back up their claims. You will hear from a Japanese medical school professor who cured himself of liver cancer over 15 years ago, a lymphoma patient who was diagnosed as terminal over 50 years ago as well as noted critics of this world-renowned healing method who dismiss it out of hand as "pure quackery." So the question that remains is, "Why is this powerful curative therapy still suppressed, more than 75 years after it was clearly proven to cure degenerative disease?" The viewers are left to decide for themselves.

Don't Buy In.

Look out for doctors who always want to label you and give you drugs.  I'm not condemning the drugs; I feel sometimes they are necessary, but doctors don't talk enough about healthy choices.  Most of the reason for this is that they are not trained about them in medical school. But they're also adults; they can figure this stuff out. They started telling me when I was 30 that my decline was inevitable because I was getting older.  If I had listened to them at that time, I would probably be a cripple by now. I don't have an answer, except to keep seeking new avenues for the body, mind, and spirit.  Every part needs to be taken care of. Your mind is a powerful thing. Don't buy in.

Must see documentaries about food.

Where does you food come from?   This is a list of documentaries that everyone needs to watch. They reveal the truth about what we are eating.  All these movies are available on netflix.

Food INC.    from their website:    "In Food, Inc., filmmaker Robert Kenner lifts the veil on our nation's food industry, exposing the highly mechanized underbelly that has been hidden from the American consumer with the consent of our government's regulatory agencies, USDA and FDA. Our nation's food supply is now controlled by a handful of corporations that often put profit ahead of consumer health, the livelihood of the American farmer, the safety of workers and our own environment. We have bigger-breasted chickens, the perfect pork chop, herbicide-resistant soybean seeds, even tomatoes that won't go bad, but we also have new strains of E. coli—the harmful bacteria that causes illness for an estimated 73,000 Americans annually. We are riddled with widespread obesity, particularly among children, and an epidemic level of diabetes among adults.
Featuring interviews with such experts as Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation), Michael Pollan (The Omnivore's Dilemma, In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto) along with forward thinking social entrepreneurs like Stonyfield's Gary Hirshberg and Polyface Farms' Joel Salatin, Food, Inc. reveals surprising—and often shocking truths—about what we eat, how it's produced, who we have become as a nation and where we are going from here."

The Future of Food   From their website.

"The Future of Food has been a key tool in the American and international anti-GMO grassroots activist movements and played widely in the environmental and activist circuits since its release in 2004. The film is widely acknowledged for its role in educating voters and the subsequent success of passing Measure H in Mendocino County, California, one of the first local initiatives in the country to ban the planting of GMO crops. Indicative of its popularity, the Future of Food showed to a sold out audience of 1,500 at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco in 2004, a benefit for Slow Food, where it was introduced by Alice Waters.

Our social-media specialist, AaRon, had this to contribute about raising healthy kids:

I have noticed that my kids and I are starting to become overweight and out of shape.  The time has come to do something about this-- but where to start?  There is so much information out there and so many different so-called healthy food choices at the supermarket.  I have committed to a healthy lifestyle; now I need to unlearn all those years of unhealthy living

The obvious place to start seems like exercise.  But exercise is boring.  How do I make it fun for the kids?  Here at A-Ron’s Healthy Heart Academy (also known as Ah Ha!) we have developed a fun exercise the whole family can enjoy.  No special equipment is necessary--all you need is a couch.  Couch-jumping is a lot of fun. You can either just bounce up and down, or run in place.  This really gets the heart pumping!   Couch-jumping does require some energy, so I have noticed it’s a good idea to eat a couple of power sticks before you get started.   I will attach my free recipe.

The moral of the story is that my kids will do what I do.  If I sit around on the couch and eat junkfood, then so do they.  But when I have a power stick and jump on the couch, so do they.   I have learned that I need to lead by example.  Mandatory Dancing whenever music comes on the TV is still in its developmental stages.

Power Sticks
     1 stalk celery
     1 scoop peanut butter

Spread peanut butter on celery
Cup hands and put to mouth like megaphone
Say POWER STICKS!!!  in deep, super-hero-like voice
Hand to kids
