Continuing Education:

The continuing-education aspect of our business is really important.  Because we pay attention to this on a continual basis, I can look at our work from even two years ago and see where we've evolved from there.  . We're very fortunate in the photography business to have a plethora of information out there, so we are always watching webinars and going to the Professional Photographers of America conferences; we've taught for the PPA at our studio, as well.  All of this keeps our ideas fresh, and continually improves our work.

Heath Photography Partners with the North Country Arts Council and Thompson Park Zoo

What do animals, gardens, and cameras have in common?

In Watertown on July 24, the answer was the North Country Arts Council’s first annual Enchanted Gardens Family Picnic, at Thompson Park.  Heath Photography was on hand, along with April McClintock Photography of Watertown, to take photos of family and friend groups in the park’s eight new formal gardens.  Half the proceeds from the photography went to Arts in the North Country.

The picnic day began with a New York State Zoo visit at Thompson Park, followed by a shuttle to the gardens for the rendezvous with the photographers.  The picnic also included live entertainment from the River Rat Rhythm Project and the a capella group Pitch Slapped.

According to Heath Photography owner Penny Heath, the zoo and the arts council wanted to call attention to recent changes.  “The Arts Council has a new location,” she explained, “and the park put in the new gardens.  They’re really trying to step up to the plate and get known, and it’s really important to support them.  We were glad to do what we could to help.”

Dear Heath Family,
I recieved the Family postcard/promotional and was thrilled to see our family on it. I smiled and felt so overwhelmed with joy and honor that you selected our photo to represent your studio. Also to put it on your site as well is a priviledge. Dad had a pacemaker put in in December and he is doing well, slowing down somewhat but still his same ole self. I am thankful God lead us to you. These pictures have brought us numerous hours of joy and smiles and thankfulness to be done in such a timely manor by your skilled hand. I recommend you highly to everyone who says they want photos, for you have captured our souls. My sincerest thank you. Happy Easter, Joy in Christ.
